quiet on set

Welcome All-Stars to your eighth task of the season. This week we are creating experimental costumes that are film ready. Create and design a fashion-forward outfit that forms to a backstory/character you have created. This is a concept I've never played with; I urge you to be as creative as possible. Good luck!
Please note; I need you to elaborate a concept and story for me to build your set. Please have this information ready at your photoshoot. Remember this is a fashion-oriented game, though I'm asking for a costume there is a fine line.

holistic celestial; confused and enthralled with power. darkness embellished into her soul . . . will it conquer her divine nature?
Your concept was thought out. I could see the story in the design the minute you spat it out. I appreciate the minimalistic yet crafty design decisions that made your story come alive. In terms of winning me over as the best design this week; it didn't quite do that for me. However this was definitely one of the strongest conceptually. Nicely done.
Xenid
fugitive healer, willing to abscond the norm to find refuge. will the vast desert caravans be a haven?
I was so intrigued by your concept; it was definitely thought out. I do however find it got lost in translation when it comes to the design. It comes across as 'costumey'. I enjoy certain elements; the headpiece and the bodice are gorgeous. Perhaps the cape was too far; maybe mending it into the design more appropriately would have done you more favours. Definitely not a bad design, I have to pick on the minuscule aspects at this point in the competition. Thanks.

strong willed anarchist; rebelling against the state. colonizing and uniting in the depths of the metropolitan capital. will the troops rally?
Your research and concept matched the effort and strong design choices equally. This is a great submission this week. The story was captivating; much like the design. The white was such a powerful contrast to the red. You left it all out for me to judge this week. I like the draping red throughout its entirety. Overall a great week for you.
Majesteux
neo-tokyo: date: 21xx android uprising; servitude is not enough. will the dying species find a new way of life? or will they be chained forever?
Relating this design to your concept was a bit of a stretch but I do see how it relates. I found the headpiece was definitely the factor that tied it together. I love the colour scheme of this design and the different layering techniques you used. Overall your imagination caught wind this week and you definitely stood out. Well done.

artificial intelligence is a dying craze; technology has re-invented itself, funnelling its knowledge through humans. will this be a new dawn? or a disaster?
I was quite fascinated with your concept; you put a lot of work into it. Conceptually this is glorious. The outfit however didn't relate to the theme as much as you should have pushed it. You should have committed 100%. The use of the scarf and textures in the middle construction of the design are comely. I wish you didn't use the headpiece; I find it was an unnecessary addition. I wish you played with a simple 'wire' like addition instead. Thanks.
This week was exceptional. I find each and every one of you captivated my attention with your creativity and story-telling. Definitely a hard decision placing 2 of you in the bottom as these designs were all quite good. I made my decision based on how well you reflected your design in your story and vice versa. Thanks.
That brings the first part of WEEK 8 to a conclusion. The top 2 this week are ICEARBR and MAJESTEUX. They will both agree on the same original concept and design face-to-face using a new approach, to see who will claim the top spot of the week. The winner will save either ISSUS or XENID. Sending 1 designer packing. Once again; you create your own path in this game and seal your fate. This isn't the end for the bottom 2; you better fight for that spot. Good luck!

10,000 leagues under the ocean's surface. a cabin crew like no other. surviving off their guttural instincts and remaining food to survive. will they find what they are looking for? or be washed away?

I tested your creativity and team working skills the second time around. In doing so I think you guys came up with a beautiful concept and some pretty incredible designs. I loved the palette and how cohesive they appear. Overall I'm going to award the win this week to the designer I feel took the most inspiration and showed me how good at story-telling they are through their designs. Congratulations ICEARBR. As a reward for your efforts you were granted the privilege of sending either ISSUS or XENID home.
The designer that you have decided to get the chop is . . .
XENID
"Andrew worked his ass off to get here, its way too cruel to take him out."
Xenid, you've excelled in this competition from day 1. You've been a rock and have been fairly consistent. I enjoy your fashion abilities and how you interpret my tasks. I know you won't be discouraged by your elimination as you know how good you really are. You are and will always be an All-Star.
