6

Welcome All-Stars to your sixth task of the season. Taking inspiration from saturated fabrics. I want you to create an original design using ombre techniques; in doing so, you will create the illusion that your design is wet.
Please note you will be photographed with your arm in the air as shown above. You can pose in any direction.
Good luck!

By far the best use of ombre this week; you really exemplified what I was looking for this week with a beautiful rendition of dry-to-wet. I love how integral the striped played throughout the design, as if this piece was slowly becoming wet. The hues are executed strategically and overall this design is gorgeous. Well done.
Majesteux
I had higher hopes for you this week, especially after your win. I don't feel as though this is fashion-oriented. It balances on street-wear. I just think you used a few designing faux pas. The hat on it's own, shouldn't be integrated into any design. It stands out for all the wrong reasons and the red had no part in the ombre effect. It detracted from the focus of the task and I don't think this was executed to the best of your abilities. Thanks.
A shock for me, though the ombre effect isn't as strong in comparison. The colours are gorgeous and I do still feel this design shows what I asked of this week. The skirt and shoes look saturated. I think the clever use of fabrics in the chest gave you the edge this week. You played with so many creative aspects; this stood out for me this week. Good job.

I'm left feeling a tad uninspired by this design; I feel as though I've seen aspects of this from you in previous weeks. (Week 2). I think had you showed me a more obvious ombre transformation and not an obvious sheen on the fabric; this would have stood out for me more. I do enjoy the construction and how you built this design from head to toe, I just wish it was stronger. Thanks.
I really enjoy the colours this week; they speak to your designing capabilities and how well you incorporate colours fluidly in your designs. Having the shoe be your focal point isn't something I ordinarily see in project runway; I'm drawn to it as it's the item that incorporates the most saturation. I think the construction of the top half of the design could have been smoothed out. Overall this is a good design.

Not only did you work with ombre hues; you incorporated patterns in the design as well. This was very clever, they do look as though they have been saturated with water. I think the use of black may have been a bit much. Perhaps a navy blue and keeping the shirt and pants one colour would have made this a bit more harmonious. Overall this was a good execution. Thanks.
I did enjoy the saturated skirt, working with grey was more daring and it would have worked had you constructed this design differently. I think the use of the scarf and jacket combo leaves me bored. This is far too safe for this stage in the competition. You've fallen short the past few weeks. I know you're trying to stay true to yourself but maybe some things are meant to be changed. Thanks.

I really enjoy the twist of colour in the upper half of the design; I see exactly what you were going for in terms of saturation. The lighter blue contrasts it beautifully. The mask may have been overkill but I still believe it played an important role of the overall appearance of the design. This is edgy, experimental and crafted beautifully. Well done.
That brings the first part of WEEK 6 to a conclusion. The top 2 this week are ICEARBR and LIDL-WAYNE. They will face-off and re-do the task using a new approach to see who will claim the top spot of the week. The winner will save either MAJESTEUX or VYIA. Sending 1 designer packing. Once again; you create your own path in this game and seal your fate. This isn't the end for the bottom 2; you better fight for that spot. Good luck!

Very creative designs the second time around; these would both stand out as the top 2 had you submitted these as well. I'm going to award the win to the designer I feel accomplished more this week in terms of giving me 2 totally different pieces. Congratulations LIDL-WAYNE. As a reward for your efforts you were granted the privilege of sending either VYIA or MAJESTEUX home.
The designer that you have decided to get the chop is . . .
VYIA
"I have decided to pick Vyia, a person I adore both as a designer and a person. Majesteux took a risk with his outfit, and I really appreciate that even though the risk didn't pay off."
You've graced my runway with poise and sophistication; you stayed true to yourself and designed only what you were comfortable showing. Admirable effort this season. I can't wait to see what you do after this. You are and will always be an All-Star.
