did you just say wig?

Welcome All-Stars to your seventh task of the season. It's time for you to be cultured . . . pop cultured. This week I ask you to create and design an outfit inspired by popular culture. Take inspiration from movements, colour and fashion.

You will be photographed wearing no head accessories or hair. Please keep this in mind when designing. I will be creating unique wigs that go with your designs.

Good luck!

. . . BUT WAIT . . .

I'm introducing another elimination twist this week. We will have a TOP 3 and a BOTTOM 3. The TOP 3 will re-do the task as normal; however they will not be choosing a designer to save, they will be choosing a designer to be eliminated. The ultimate winner of the task will have the opportunity to VOID one of the other TOP 2's decisions. The name(s) that are not voided will be eliminated from the competition.

I thought your inspiration was 'okay'. I didn't love the idea but I see how it was translated into the design. I wish you crafted this differently. It doesn't match the capabilities of the other designers still remaining in the competition. I know you're better than this. I like the mixture of graphics in the chest; I just wish that were more prominent in the design and not hidden behind black. Overall this isn't horrible, it just doesn't stand tall. Thanks.

This is a gorgeous combination of fabrics and layering; definitely one of your better designs to date. I just wish it were more concrete and effervescent. You were inspired by hackers; though I see how this works into the outfit conceptually. I don't see how it relates to the task 100%. I think it would be a shame to go out with such a strong design. I just wish your inspiration was thought out a little better. Thanks.

Your inspiration hit the mark. A prince inspired design; I enjoy the hues and structure of this design. The construction of fabrics and palpable layering really accentuate your designing capabilities. You're very crafty. Overall I find this design to be intriguing and safe. Thanks.

You knew the direction you were headed and I'm following along. This is strong in terms of your concept. Though some of the designing elements may have missed the mark; this is a complete design. I enjoy the colour palette; the combination of graphics in the bodice and the shoes. This is a work of art. Well done.

This is really stunning. You pieced this design together as if it were a painting on canvas. The colours are inspiring and 'out-there'. This is one of your best looks in this competition. The orange and yellow worked harmoniously and played off one another really well; via the tattoo and the stripes in the trousers. Good job!

Coca-cola is shaking. I made you redo your design this week due to not following the rules. I'm happy you did because this is heaps better than the previous. The minimalistic approach worked amazingly well with the direction you wanted to go. The red circle was so eye-catching and unorthodox but worked with the idea. I've never seen this tattoo being used so obviously; yet done so well.

pepsi  . . sip

Your concept lacked creativity; it seems you were focused on a black and white design that you negated the task entirely. That was your only downfall this week. Had the task been different; this would have held up. I really enjoy the draping effect and the composition of this design. Overall I wish you had expanded your horizons and created a conceptual masterpiece. This falls short for me this week. Thanks.

That brings the first part of WEEK 7 to a conclusion. The top 3 this week are XENID, RIVERSTONEPEACH and ISSUS. They will face-off and re-do the task using a new approach to see who will claim the top spot of the week. The winner will NULL ONE of the other top 2's decisions. Sending either 1 OR 2 designers packing. Once again; you create your own path in this game and seal your fate. This isn't the end for the bottom 3; you better fight for that spot. Good luck!

Definitely the hardest week for everyone. The twists this season keep on coming and I'm sure you've all had your fill. I haven't had mine though . . . This week you each had the opportunity to send 1 of the bottom 3 designers home; for one of you the chance was taken away as the top designer this week chose 1 person to null. The person I have awarded the win to for this task; played every aspect of their design into their inspiration. I love this piece from top to bottom and I think you grasped what this task was from the start. The winner is  RIVERSTONEPEACH. Well done! You have been given the chance to null either XENID or ISSUS

The person you have decided to null is . . .                            . . . meaning XENID and RIVERSTONEPEACH had the opportunity to eliminate the same player or different players.

Unfortunately they decided to eliminate different designers, resulting in another double elimination.

XENID has decided to chop . . .

ISSUS

RIVERSTONEPEACH has decided to chop . . .

BARBUDA

"I pick Barbuda because personally I did not like her look this challenge and I would find it rude and out of character for me to eliminate someone who I feel did something creative and refreshing."

Barbuda, you have to be one of the most level-headed and fascinating designers i've had on my runway. You've more than proven yourself as a worthy competitor and a top designer. It's sad to see you leave this competition as you have everything it takes to win. I'm so thankful you spearheaded this opportunity and I know this wont defeat you. Thanks.

Lidl-Wayne, I gave you the opportunity to redeem yourself after the tragedy that was CorpeTerm. You bounced back in BradInc season 5; but you've grown to be an even better designer this season. I'm happy to have had you in this competition; unfortunate events were your demise as this was your path to lead, not mine. I hope you keep on doing what you do and prove to the community that you're here.

You are and will always be All-Stars.
