3

Welcome All-Stars to your third task of the season. This week I ask you to create an original design inspired by the fur/feather coat you are assigned. This is a constructive task that will test your limitations and creativity in a new way.

Please note; you ARE allowed to add onto your assigned coat. All added accessories (coats, necklaces etc.) will be added OVER the edit. Any shirts will be added UNDER the coat.

If you have any questions on the limitations I'm asking of you, don't hesitate to contact me. Good luck!

You can pose any way you would like.

The tangle and sporadic placement of fabric is wicked. I love how you played with the jetting obstruction to create this visual of string. This is cohesive; it shows off the jacket but still adds your style and personality. Very impressive design this week. Well done.

Xenid

This isn't overly creative in terms of layering. That being said the palette is glorious. I love how mixed it is but it still ties it all together. The texture of the pants offsets the jacket in a good way. I like this design but I don't love it. Thanks.

Barbuda

Minimalistic approach, I expected it. I think this is a very safe route; you knew it would land you a safe spot. However the palette is fitting and extends off the jacket. Smart decisions were made in this design. I love the pastel pink strip on the side. Overall, safe but smart. Thanks.

Snawl

You knew this was a risk the minute you submitted it. It's so muddled and the layers you added overcompensates for the simplicity intended for this task. You wanted to cram so much in as to show how versatile of a designer you are. The palette was nice, the skirt doesn't work in this layout. Overall you missed the mark.

WartortIe

You've fizzled this week. Your inability to think more creatively really showed. You stuck with a gaudy composition. You wanted to add layers that were unnecessary. I wish you twisted this differently this week. The palette was tame and worked in your favour against the brown coat. Overall this isn't a horrible design it just lacks in comparison.

Majesteux

This is so graphic and 'cute'. I didn't expect seeing a design like this at all this week. You really pulled one out of the bag and created a masterpiece. I love the colour and how well it stands up against your jacket. Especially since you got a simple jacket design, this all ties together beautifully. The ruffle of colour sticking out of the side was genius. Great work!

That brings the first part of WEEK 3 to a conclusion. The top 2 this week are MAJESTEUX and ISSUS. They will face-off and re-do the task using a new approach to see who will claim the top spot of the week. The winner will send either ICEARBR or WARTORTIE packing. Once again; you create your own path in this game and seal your fate. This isn't the end for the bottom 2; you better fight for that spot. Good luck!

24 HOURS TO RESUBMIT

This week the 2 of you have pushed boundaries like no other. You have created stunning designs both times you submitted. You should be very proud of what you've accomplished this week on such a difficult task. Ultimately I have picked the winner to be the designer that dug a little deeper. Congratulations ISSUS. As a reward for your efforts you were granted the privilege of sending either ICEARBR or WARTORTIE home.

The designer that you have decided to get the chop is . . .

"Everyone saw this coming a mile away, I'd go for the gag of the season and eliminate Arber as he's very strong competition, but I lost my gag reflex a while ago. I choose Ryan to go home."

Thanks for participating Ryan; you've held your head high this competition and worked through each task with finesse and pride. You are and will always be an All-Star.

You were so confused by this task; you have to be more confident. You're on the cusp of something really strong here. Had you taken the time to play with different approaches this could have been a top look. The shoe colour is gorgeous. It really works with the palette. I love the fur you added to the jacket and how slimming the design is. Overall this was so close to what I really wanted but not quite there.

Jozinga

I really appreciate the thought process in this design. The black; though overbearing still balanced this design out appropriately. I think this is one of your better designs to date. I love the blue and how it draws attention from the black and tones the outfit down. Well done. Welcome back.

icearbr

I don't want to lecture you; but this outfit was not what I was looking for this week. The black scarves are so ostentatious; it covers the jacket and swallows it up. You definitely struggled this week on a restricted task. I don't think this is fashion-forward in the slightest and I wish you thought about this design a little more before submitting.

RiverStonePeach

The ruffle and layering of fabrics in the bottom half of the design are very dated. However they are used in such a palpable way that it overlooks the fact. I think the palette is harmonious and works well with the jacket given to you. The extension of the jacket by using the dress was smart. Overall I really like this design. Good work.

SofterWorld

It didn't take you long to explain this, this week. You knew a minimal approach to such a texturized jacket would be smart. Especially since you ruffled the bottom of your design very strategically. This is a great composition. I appreciate it for its ability to stand out but still be minimal. I especially love the orange tones you balanced throughout the design. Clever.

Issus

You haven't failed to amaze me this week. I love this design from head to toe. The oranges are gorgeous and the belt constructing the chest was genius. You managed to cover the only part of the jacket that has orange tones  but still incorporate orange into the design flawlessly. Great work.
