9

Welcome All-Stars to your ninth task of the season. This is a commercial task that will test your limitations. The first aspect of this task is to submit a pattern of your choice to be designed on a purse. Using your chosen pattern as inspiration; you will be creating an outfit that sells your 'purse first'.
The second aspect of this task is . . . you will be designing for 3 different demographics of your choice. That's a total of 3 designs for those that cant count.
The third aspect is . . . you will be designing in the angles above.
Please note your purse will be the same pattern for all 3 designs.
Good luck!
I would also like to welcome .Cow. to my panel. I'm blurring the lines this week with a 'drag' inspired task. I couldn't think of anyone better than a reigning champion to help me out. She will be joining me in critiquing your designs.

These are monumental designs. Each of them hold their own origin. Your chosen demographics; though rudimentary, they were the strongest of the week. Simplicity at it's finest. You picked a great pattern to be displayed on your bag and worked around it to make it the focal point. The one design that does blend with it, still makes it stand out. Overall I'm impressed with your attention to detail and ability to excel in these restraining tasks. Well done.

I'm a sucker for primary colors, but sometimes it is difficult to make them look good when put together. However, I think you did an excellent job with the use of white as a base, it really makes those colors pop without it looking messy. The menswear look is definitely the weakest; it feels as though it is missing something like maybe a pop of red with the shoes, but your other two designs make up for it especially the non-binary look, I love the pop of yellow in the glasses. Good job!

Conceptually these are fairly accurate representations of your chosen demographics. I think you could have been a bit more creative however. You were almost there with the construction of your purse; the pattern didn't stand out and compliment the designs and vice versa. Though I find the designs to be exceptional in their own right, I can't help but feel I've seen variations of each of these from you this season. If you're given the chance to excel, I hope you walk out of the shadows.

I love the young adult look, it's very sleek and I love the shape. The other two looks however are overcrowded. The purse should be a focal point, which you achieved in the young adult look, but it gets lost in the middle-aged woman and is completely out of place in the retired look. Though I love the color palette, I wish the shapes were different.

I'm very confused by your entire approach to this task. The demographics seem uninspiring to you. You seemed unsure even when you submitted. The concept should reflect in your designs and I don't see the connection. The purse is gorgeous, stands out on each and every one of your designs. However, the designs aren't constructed and layered proportionately or palpably. The fashion-forward design is so bizarre and heavy. The athleisure design is being swallowed up by the black fabrics you've chosen to use. Overall these aren't the powerful designs I'm used to seeing. I hope this was a hiccup.

I love the pattern you chose, and the use of yellows and bright blues really makes the purse stand out. I wish the nightlife outfit had a little bit more to it plus I don't really understand the necklace you paired with it. I'm also not a fan of how bulky the top of your fashion forward look is. Though I love your concepts I'm not sure if it comes across super clear just by looking at the outfits. Thanks!

These are your best designs to date. Let me get that out of the way. In terms of relating these to the task at hand; you were on the right track. I think the purse could stand out more on the painter design for sure. I love the compositions and how sleek each design looks. The demographics were creative and inspired the outfits directly. Overall, you've shown me your attention to detail and layering abilities. I'm thoroughly impressed.

I love the crazy color palette you have going on, and the choosing black as a base to really make them shine was smart. Though I feel like your purse blends in too much with your first outfit I love the concept of it being a painter. The last look is kinda boring, but I can see where you were going with it. The older woman look is definitely my favorite, I love the splotches of colors you put on it. Good job!

I'd like to start off by thanking .Cow. for her time and valued opinion and insight this week. Each and every one of my remaining 4 designers deserve to be here. It's disheartening to know 1 of you will have to leave this week. Especially at a critical point in this competition. The end of the road is near . . .
That brings the first part of WEEK 9 to a conclusion. The top 2 this week are ICEARBR and MAJESTEUX. They will both create 1 design that corresponds to the task above. 1 demographic - 1 design - 1 pattern - 1 angle. To see who will claim the top spot of the week. The winner will save either ISSUS or RIVERSTONEPEACH. Sending 1 designer packing. Once again; you create your own path in this game and seal your fate. This isn't the end for the bottom 2; you better fight for that spot. Good luck!

Definitely a clear winner this week. Great composition, aesthetically pleasing and creative. Congratulations ICEARBR. As a reward for your efforts you were granted the privilege of sending either ISSUS or RIVERSTONEPEACH home.
The designer that you have decided to get the chop is . . .
RIVERSTONEPEACH
"Games and strategy aside, I'm gonna continue with my fair judgement based on quality of outfit and progress. So I'll send Bri home."
RiverStonePeach, you are for sure the most seasoned designer I have casted this season. You've outranked everyone in terms of your determination to succeed. Unfortunately this wasn't your time. You were a pleasure to have this season; you pushed yourself to new limits I have never seen from you before. You are and will always be an All-Star.
